Xiaomi Mi 11 With Snapdragon 888 Arriving in Malaysia Soon
January 7, 2021 Andrew Cheng

Unveiled to the world just last week, there’s a very good chance the Xiaomi Mi 11 is arriving here in Malaysia very soon. If it does land on our shores soon, the Mi 11 will be the first Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 flagship smartphone to be sold here.

In our routine search through SIRIM’s database, we noticed that Xiaomi Malaysia registered a new phone with the model number M2011K2G two days ago on 5 January. After some digging around, we’re confident that this is in fact the Mi 11.

One of the major highlights of the Mi 11 is definitely the Snapdragon 888 chipset powering the phone. Fabricated on a more power-efficient 5nm process – in comparison to the 7nm Snapdragon 865 – Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor promises up to 25% and 35% better CPU and GPU performance respectively.

Other specifications of the Mi 11 include a 6.81-inch 1440p curved AMOLED screen with a fast 120Hz refresh rate, a triple camera system (108MP f/1.85 primary + 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide angle + 5MP f/2.4 telemacro), a 20MP f/2.4 front-facing camera, a 4,600mAh battery, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage, as well as an in-screen fingerprint sensor that can even measure heart rate.

Now that the Xiaomi Mi 11 has been registered with SIRIM, we reckon it’s only a matter of time before Xiaomi Malaysia officially launch the device on our shores. Of course, we will keep a close eye on the local availability of the Mi 11.
