It’s official: Samsung just confirmed the launch date of its next flagship smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event is happening next week on 14 January, where the Galaxy S21 series is expected to be unveiled.
As with Samsung’s previous teasers for its Unpacked events, this one gives us an idea of what to expect, even if the Galaxy S21 series has been leaked extensively. Anyway, the “Welcome to the Everyday Epic” teaser image seems to be showing off the camera module of the upcoming flagship smartphone.
The Galaxy S21 series, just like last year, will reportedly include three devices: the standard Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S21+, and of course, the range-topping Galaxy S21 Ultra. All three smartphones will supposedly feature 120Hz flat screens (instead of curved) with support for variable refresh rate, though the S21 and S21+ are said to feature 1080p displays. Naturally, the S21 Ultra is believed to retain the 1440p screen of its predecessor.
Other rumoured specifications of the Galaxy S21 series include either an Exynos 2100 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset for selected markets, a triple camera system with the usual three focal lengths – the S21 Ultra will reportedly feature a quad camera setup instead with two telephoto sensors – as well as 4,000mAh, 4,800mAh, and 5,000mAh batteries for the S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra respectively.
