2021 Hyundai Elantra Open for Booking in Malaysia; Priced at RM1xx,888

Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) just opened bookings for the 2021 Hyundai Elantra in Malaysia. According to the company, the new C-segment sedan will actually be launched here before the end of 2020, and it will only be offered in a single variant.

HSDM did not reveal exactly how much the seventh generation Elantra will cost in our market, though it did say the sedan will retail at RM1XX,888. The sole variant will be powered by a 1.6L SmartStream four-cylinder MPI engine that offers 123PS and 154Nm of torque paired with Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), its version of a CVT gearbox.

Just like the rest of its competition, the Elantra will come with a suite of driver assistance systems as well, courtesy of Hyundai SmartSense. These include Forward Collision-avoidance Assist (FCA), Blind-spot Collision-avoidance Assist (BCA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC) with stop and go function, and Lane Following Assist (LFA).

Aside from that, the new Elantra for the Malaysian market will also come with 17-inch wheels, a 10.25-inch Supervision digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch infotainment screen with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as a wireless charging pad for smartphones. More features of the C-segment sedan will be revealed closer to launch.

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra is now available for booking in Malaysia with a RM777 booking fee. You can register your interest for the seventh generation sedan right here.
