Asus has officially introduced the 2020 iterations of the ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14 for the Malaysian market. Packing Intel’s latest 10th generation Ice Lake processors in a sleek, thin chassis, these two productivity laptops are made for those who are always on the go.
As we’ve previously reported, there are two different variants for both the ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14. The Core i5-1035G1 model for the two laptops cost RM3,999, while the more powerful Core i7-1065G7 configurations go for RM4,699. That’s right, there is no price difference between the ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14.
This makes sense, given that both laptops are almost identical to each other. Only the display size and weight of the two machines are different: the ZenBook 13 weighs 1.07kg with a 13.3-inch 1080p display, while the ZenBook 14 tips the scales at 1.13kg with a bigger 14-inch 1080p screen. It’s also worth noting that the former has an 88% screen-to-body ratio; the ZenBook 14 is slightly better at 90%.
As mentioned, both ZenBook laptops can be purchased with either a Core i5-1035G1 or Core i7-1065G7 processor for the Malaysian market. Regardless of which configuration you go for, the ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14 still come with 512GB of SSD storage and 8GB of RAM; you won’t get more RAM or storage with the higher-end Core i7 model.
Beyond these hardware, what makes the ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14 particularly interesting is its portable nature. After all, both laptops measure only 13.9mm thin. It’s really quite interesting that Asus manage to retain the thin profile of the more compact ZenBook 13 with the larger ZenBook 14 as well.
Despite their slim profiles, the connectivity options of the ZenBook laptops are surprisingly complete. They have two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support, a USB-A connection, an HDMI output, and a microSD card reader. However, the 3.5mm headphone jack is omitted on both machines, though a dongle for it is provided with the laptops.
The Asus ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14 are now available for purchase in Malaysia. To recap, the Core i5 models cost RM3,999, while the Core i7 configurations go for RM4,699. To celebrate the launch of the new ZenBook laptops, Asus is offering a RM100 rebate for the first 20 buyers of the two products on its official Shopee store. This deal is only available until 12 August tomorrow, and users have to use the ASUSZB100 discount code at checkout.
