Acer just announced the Malaysian availability of its latest gaming laptop, the new Acer Predator Helios 300. What makes this machine particularly interesting is the fact that it offers very, very good value for money: it’s an RTX 2060 gaming laptop for only RM4,599.

That’s right, the updated Helios 300 starts at only RM4,599, making it one of the most affordable gaming laptops in the market now with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. Besides that, it also has a 15.6-inch 1080p IPS display with a fast 144Hz refresh rate, which is ideal for fast-paced games.

This variant of the Helios 300 also features Intel’s latest 10th generation Core i5-10300H chip, along with 8GB of RAM and a generous 512GB SSD storage. The Core i5 processor may not sound super impressive, but it should be fast enough to keep up with the RTX 2060 GPU. As for the RAM capacity, we’d highly recommend upgrading it to 16GB for the best gaming experience.

Besides this Core i5 model, there is also a higher-end configuration of the Helios 300 for our market. It has the same hardware as the aforementioned variant, but the range-topping model comes with a faster Core i7-10750H processor. How much does this upgrade cost? An additional RM600, bringing the price to RM5,199.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Helios 300 looks very similar, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It measures only 22.9mm thin, and weighing 2.2kg, it’s not awfully heavy either. Even though it looks almost identical to the previous model, there is one small change: the Predator wording below the logo on the lid has been removed.

Connectivity options of the Helios 300 are quite good as well. It features a USB-C port, three full-size USB-A connections, an HDMI 2.0 output, a mini DisplayPort 1.4, and even an SD card reader. It also comes with a two-year on-site warranty with accidental damage or theft protection, so you’ll have peace of mind if anything were to happen.

The new Acer Predator Helios 300 is now available for purchase on Acer Malaysia’s official Shopee store, and in conjunction with Acer Day 2020, the gaming laptop will be offered with a RM100 discount between 2 to 4 August. A complimentary Predator mousepad, flask, and backpack are also bundled.

On top of that, every purchase of the Helios 300 comes with one of three free gifts: a Predator Cestus gaming mouse, an Acer wireless mouse, or a pair of Redmi AirDots wireless earbuds.
