Poco F2 Pro Now in Malaysia for RM2,199; Most Affordable Snapdragon 865 Phone

As expected, the Poco F2 Pro has just been launched in Malaysia today. Just like its predecessor, it’s a flagship smartphone that offers immensely good value for money. Although it’s not quite as affordable anymore, you’re still getting a lot of bang for your buck with the F2 Pro.

Two variants of the Poco F2 Pro are available in Malaysia. The base model with 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM retails at RM2,199, while the 256GB option with 8GB of RAM goes for RM2,599. Those who opt for the 256GB variant will also receive a complimentary Black Shark FunCooler to cool down your phone.

Starting at only RM2,199, that makes the Poco F2 Pro the most affordable flagship smartphone in Malaysia with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset right now. On top of that, you’re getting 5G connectivity as well. 5G networks may not be widely available here yet, but it does future-proof the device to an extend.

Compared to its predecessor, the Poco F2 Pro is a much sleeker-looking phone too. Thanks to its 20MP motorised pop-up front-facing camera, there’s no need to make space for the selfie shooter on the front of hte phone. This, in turn, allows the F2 Pro to feature a distraction-free all-screen design.

As for the screen itself, it’s a 6.67-inch 1080p AMOLED display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. It’s not quite as impressive as other flagship smartphones’ displays with higher refresh rates, but the fact that this is an AMOLED panel means you will get vibrant, punchy colours with deep blacks and great viewing angles. If you’re an avid mobile gamer, you’ll also appreciate the screen’s 180Hz touch response rate to minimise input lag.

In the camera department, the Poco F2 Pro is equipped with a quad camera system. It’s made up of a 64MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP depth shooter, and a 5MP telephoto macro camera. Not a very elaborate camera configuration – especially for a flagship smartphone – but this is a very affordable flagship.

Other specifications of the Poco F2 Pro include a very generous 4,700mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging – Poco claims this allows the phone to be charged up to full in 63 minutes – an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and Poco Launcher 2.0.

To recap, the Poco F2 Pro retails at RM2,199 and RM2,599 for the 128GB + 6GB and 256GB + 8GB models respectively. It will go on sale in Malaysia next month from 10 June onwards, and those who place their order through Lazada on that day itself can get it for only RM1,999 – that’s RM200 worth of savings.
