The Black Shark 3 is now in Malaysia, and it’s priced pretty competitively for a high-end gaming smartphone. Retailing at RM2,799, you’re getting good value for your money here. On top of that, early birds can also get it for only RM2,649.
In order to grab the Black Shark 3 for RM2,649, you’ll have to be the first 400 buyers to purchase the device when it is available later tonight on the company’s official Shopee store. On top of that, the first 150 buyers will also receive RM800 worth of freebies. These include the FunCooler Pro, screen crack protection warranty for one year, a mousepad, and a “mystery merchandise set.”
But what about the Black Shark 3 Pro? Well, unfortunately, the range-topping model will only be arriving here sometime next month in May.
Nonetheless, the standard Black Shark 3 still offers quite a bit of impressive hardware. For one, it’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, so rest assured, you will get top-notch gaming performance with this smartphone. Of course, you also get 5G connectivity with the Snapdragon 865.
Besides that, the Black Shark 3 also has a 6.67-inch 2400 x 1080 AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It would’ve been great if it had a faster display, but at 90Hz, it should still be able to provide reasonably good motion clarity.
More importantly, the Black Shark 3’s screen has a blazing fast 270Hz touch sampling rate. This improves the responsiveness of the display, so input lag will be minimised quite a bit. Needless to say, mobile gamers who want every advantage they can get will definitely appreciate this feature.
As the Black Shark 3 is a gaming smartphone, there are also two capacitive shoulder buttons on the right side of the phone. It’s not quite as impressive as the physical shoulder buttons of the Pro model, but they do offer the same functionality.
Other specifications of the Black Shark 3 include a triple camera system (64MP f/1.8 primary + 13MP f/2.3 ultra-wide angle + 5MP f/2.2 depth), a 20MP f/2.2 selfie camera, a 4,720mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging, and an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The Black Shark 3 will be available for purchase later tonight at 12AM from the company’s Shopee store. As mentioned, the first 400 buyers can grab the phone for only RM2,649. The Black Shark 3 Pro, on the other hand, will be coming to Malaysia sometime in May next month.
