Unreleased Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Landing in Malaysia Soon?
April 13, 2020 Andrew Cheng

Previously, we reported that the Mi 10 series is already on its way to Malaysia, given that the Mi 10 Pro appeared in SIRIM’s database. Well, it appears Xiaomi registered yet another device with the certification body, which could be the yet to be released Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite.

Back in 2 April, Xiaomi Malaysia registered a mobile device with the model number M2002F4LG with SIRIM. A quick Google search shows that this is very likely the Mi Note 10 Lite, so there’s a good chance Xiaomi is bringing in the upcoming phone to the Malaysian market.

Even though it carries the Lite moniker, the Mi Note 10 Lite is actually quite similar to its more costly siblings. That is, if leaks and rumours surrounding the unreleased phone are to be believed, which claim that the device will be powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset as the Mi Note 10 smartphones.

Besides that, the Mi Note 10 Lite is believed to feature a similar 6.47-inch 1080p AMOLED screen along with a 5,260mAh battery with 30W fast charging. Given these similarities, there’s a good chance this phone will share the same chassis as the other Mi Note 10 smartphones.

So what differentiates the Mi Note 10 Lite from the rest of its siblings? Well, it’s said to be the camera system. Instead of the Mi Note 10’s sophisticated penta camera system headlined by a 108MP sensor, the Lite is said to sport a simpler camera system, though it will still offer five different sensors.

Most leaks are indicating that the primary camera of the Mi Note 10 Lite will be a 64MP shooter, which is complemented by two other 8MP sensors, a 5MP lens, and a 2MP camera. Unfortunately, there’s still no detailed breakdown of the penta camera configuration, though we reckon there will at least be an ultra-wide angle sensor.

Other rumoured specifications of the Mi 10 Lite include a 16MP selfie camera, at least two variants with different RAM and storage capacities, as well as Android 10 out of the box.

At the moment, there’s still no launch date given for the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite, which could be because of the current situation brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonetheless, we will keep a close eye on any announcement regarding the upcoming smartphone, including its Malaysian availability.

Correction 13 April, 4PM: This article originally stated the SIRIM certification could’ve been for the Mi 10 Lite 5G; recent developments show that it’s possibly the unreleased Mi Note 10 Lite instead. We regret the error.
