The compact Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop is slated to be available globally sometime this month, and it could be happening very soon: listings of the G14 have started appearing online. If these listings are accurate, the 14-inch gaming laptop could go for upwards of RM5,000.
Listings of the ROG Zephyrus G14 came from Amazon China and Newegg Canada. For the Chinese market, the G14 with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS processor is listed at 10,094.20 Chinese yuan (about RM6,145) for the Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti model; it’s worth noting that this GPU has not even been announced yet. The higher-end GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q variant, on the other hand, retails for 11,776.64 yuan (approximately RM7,170) on Amazon China.
As for the listing on Newegg Canada, the Zephyrus G14 is noticeably more affordable. The GTX 1660 Ti variant of the gaming laptop with a Ryzen 7 4800HS processor, for one, is listed at CA$1,699 – that’s around RM5,235. The beefier RTX 2060 model with a faster Ryzen 9 4900HS processor and the AniMe Matrix LED dot-matrix display, on the other hand, costs CA$2,499 (about RM7,705).
At these price points, the Zephyrus G14 is without a doubt positioned as a premium gaming laptop. After all, it is a compact, lightweight machine with a reasonably slim chassis. This combination of features – especially for a gaming laptop – do not come cheap, and these price tags certainly reflect that.
Of course, there is a chance these early listings are subject to change, so it may not reflect the official price tags of the Zephyrus G14. That being said, don’t expect it to be much more affordable that what these listings are suggesting.
It’s also worth noting that the ROG Zephyrus G14 has already been registered with SIRIM, so it’s possible Asus Malaysia is preparing to launch the compact gaming laptop on our shores soon. With its very promising choice of 7nm Ryzen 4000 series processors, fast 120Hz 14-inch 1080p display, and generous amount of SSD and RAM storage, it’s an attractive laptop, especially if you want a portable gaming machine.
Nonetheless, now that multiple listings of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 have appeared online, we reckon the compact gaming laptop will also be arriving here in Malaysia very, very soon. It’ll be interesting to see just how well the new Ryzen 4000 processor – and the unannounced GTX 1650 Ti GPU – would perform with the G14.
