The Realme C3 mid-range smartphone has just been launched in Malaysia. Sporting a MediaTek Helio G70 chipset – it’s touted as a gaming-oriented processor – and a generous 5,000mAh battery, the C3 is quite an interesting device for those on a tight budget.

Even though MediaTek chipsets aren’t particularly favoured by consumers, the Helio G70 is a very respectable mid-range processor. If you’re an avid mobile gamer, the G70 should be able to deliver a good level of performance for a pleasant gaming experience, even in popular games like PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile.

Of course, it’s not in the same league as higher-end chips like, say, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730, but the G70 really does offer good performance for the money.

Besides that, the Realme C3 also has a generous 5,000mAh battery, which will come in handy for those long gaming sessions. Thanks to this large battery capacity, we reckon the C3 will be able to return above average battery life, especially with the 720p display.

That’s right, the Realme C3’s 6.5-inch IPS display only has a resolution of 1600 x 720. While a 1080p screen would look more pleasing with better clarity, this is a budget-friendly smartphone; expectations have to be managed. Plus, the 720p display is less power-hungry than a sharper 1080p panel.

This, together with the phone’s large 5,000mAh battery, should translate to even better battery life.

In the camera department, the Realme C3 features a triple camera system on the back. It is made up of a 12MP f/1.8 primary shooter, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. There’s no ultra-wide angle or telephoto sensor here, which is really expected for a smartphone at this price point. The selfie camera, on the other hand, is a 5MP f/2.4 shooter.

Rounding out the specifications of the Realme C3 include 32GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 3GB of RAM, a rear fingerprint sensor, a microUSB port, and Realme UI 1.0 based on Android 10 out of the box.
