More laptops powered by Intel’s latest 11th generation Tiger Lake chips are coming to Malaysia. Enter the new Acer Swift 5 and Acer Swift 3; thin and light productivity laptops that don’t cost quite as much as their competition. This is especially true with the Swift 3.

Since it’s the more affordable option, let’s talk about the Swift 3 first. With a 15.95mm thin chassis that weighs only 1.2kg, it’s an ideal productivity laptop for those who are always on the go. Two variants of the Swift 3 are offered for the Malaysian market: the Core i5-1135G7 model with 8GB of RAM costs RM3,299, while the higher-end Core i7-1165G7 configuration with 16GB of RAM goes for RM4,199.

Regardless of which variant you go for, you will get 512GB of SSD storage, a 14-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS screen, and Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics.

As for the more premium Swift 5, it’s even lighter and thinner than the Swift 3. It measures only 14.95mm thin, and tipping the scales at merely 1.05kg, this is a very lightweight, very portable productivity laptop. Acer managed to trim down the weight of the Swift 5 using a combination of high-grade magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminium.

Just like the Swift 3, there are two variants of the Swift 5 for the local market. The base model comes with a Core i5-1135G7 processor paired with 8GB RAM for RM3,999, while the Core i7-1165G7 model with 16GB of RAM is priced at RM4,999. Both configurations also have a 14-inch 1080p IPS screen with a 512GB SSD.

To recap, the Acer Swift 5 and Swift 3 retail from RM3,999 and RM3,299 respectively, and they are now available for purchase in Malaysia. Do note that both of these productivity laptops also come with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 pre-installed.
