Aside from the very lightweight Yoga Slim 7i Carbon, the equally premium Lenovo Yoga 9i has been launched in Malaysia as well. Although it’s not quite as light as the former, the Yoga 9i is a convertible laptop with a rather unique leather cover.
At the moment, only the 14-inch model of the Yoga 9i is offered in Malaysia. According to Lenovo, two variants of the convertible laptop are available here. The more affordable aluminium model features an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor paired with 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, and a 14-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS touch-enabled screen for RM6,499.
Do note that the above variant of the Yoga 9i is only offered at retail stores in Malaysia. If you want the leather-covered model instead, it will set you back RM6,909 for the same internals. Basically, you’ll be paying RM410 for the leather cover, and this variant – unlike the aluminium model – will only be sold on Lenovo’s online store.
As a premium productivity laptop, the Yoga 9i does have a number of must-have features for a machine in this segment, including good portability and long battery life. With a 14.6mm chassis that weighs 1.37kg, this laptop can also deliver up to 18 hours of battery life for the Full HD model, which is the only variant set to be available in our market.
Speaking of which, no word yet on exactly when the Lenovo Yoga 9i will be sold in Malaysia, though we were told it will be available on our shores very soon. To recap, the Yoga 9i with an aluminium case retails at RM6,499, while the leather-covered model costs RM6,909.
