Microsoft Surface Laptop Go Now Available in Malaysia From RM2,758
November 24, 2020 Andrew Cheng

Initially opened for pre-orders earlier this month, Microsoft’s latest laptop, the Surface Laptop Go, is now available for purchase in Malaysia. Positioned below the Surface Laptop range, this productivity-focused machine is meant to appeal to those who want a more budget-friendly Microsoft laptop.

Three variants of the Surface Laptop Go are offered for the Malaysian market. The base model (RM2,758) comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage, while the mid-tier variant features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage for RM3,388.

The top-of-the-line configuration, on the other hand, sports 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage for RM4,288. There’s actually a higher-end model with 16GB of RAM instead, but that’s only offered to business customers.

Beyond the different RAM and storage configurations, all three variants of the Surface Laptop Go have the same hardware. These include an Intel Core i5-1035G1 processor – yes, it’s still just a 10th generation chip – and a 12.4-inch 1536 x 1024 PixelSense touch-enabled screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio; the extra screen real estate makes this aspect ratio ideal for productivity tasks.

Aside from that, it’s also worth noting that this is Microsoft’s most lightweight Surface Laptop yet. Tipping the scales at 1.1kg with a 15.69mm thin chassis, you can easily lug this laptop around in your backpack. It also has a quoted battery life of up to 13 hours on a single charge.

To recap, the Microsoft Surface Laptop Go is now available for purchase in Malaysia, including Shopee and Lazada. The 64GB + 4GB base model retails at RM2,758, while the 128GB + 8GB and 256GB + 8GB variants go for RM3,388 and RM4,288 respectively.
