It’s finally here: the PlayStation 5 is set to arrive in Malaysia next month on 11 December. On top of that, the local pricing of the console has been revealed too. Retailing from RM1,869, it’s quite a well-priced next generation console.
Of course, RM1,869 is for the more affordable PS5 Digital Edition; the standard PS5 with a Blu-ray disc drive retails at RM2,299 instead. Pre-orders for both systems will begin from tomorrow onwards on 12 November from these participating retailers.
Aside from that, PlayStation also shared the pricing of accessories for the PS5. The DualSense controller, for one, is set to retail at RM349. You can also get the charging station for the DualSense (which can charge two of them at the same time) for RM149. There’s also the Pulse 3D wireless headset (RM469), HD Camera (RM279), and Media Remote (RM149).
While we won’t be getting the PS5 at the same time as other markets – it’s set to be available globally on 19 November – it’s still a pleasant surprise that the Malaysian market will receive the console this year. After all, the PS5 is practically sold out globally; consumer demand for the next generation console is definitely high.
To recap, the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition retails at RM1,869, while the standard PS5 costs RM2,299. You can pre-order both models tomorrow from these retailers.
