Motorola Razr (2020) May Be Coming to Malaysia Soon
November 10, 2020 Andrew Cheng

We’ve seen quite a number of smartphones with foldable screens in Malaysia, but if you want one in a flip phone form factor, only the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip offers such a design. Well, that could be changing in the near future: the Motorola Razr (2020) could be released in Malaysia very soon.

While we were going through SIRIM’s database, one device registered with Lenovo Malaysia just yesterday caught our eye. Carrying the model number XT2071-4, this is none other than the updated Razr flip phone. Curiously, SIRIM doesn’t state that the phone comes with 5G connectivity, even though it comes with the 5G-capable Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Razr does bring a number of notable updates, including the aforementioned Snapdragon 765G chip instead of a slower Snapdragon 710 SoC. On top of that, it also has a slightly larger 2,800mAh battery now, which should be able to provide better battery life than the 2,510mAh cell of the previous model.

Other specifications of the 2020 Razr include (of course) a foldable 6.2-inch HD+ plastic OLED screen, an external 2.7-inch 800 x 600 OLED display, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of non-expandable storage, a single 48MP f/1.7 rear camera, a 20MP f/2.2 selfie camera, and a rear fingerprint sensor; all for a cool $1,400 (about RM5,765).

At the moment, we haven’t heard from Lenovo Malaysia on the local availability of the 2020 Motorola Razr. But now that the phone has been registered with SIRIM, there’s a good chance we’ll hear from the company very soon.
