The Glorious GMMK Pro Looks Like a Fantastic $170 Gasket-Mounted 75% Keyboard
November 5, 2020 Andrew Cheng

Glorious released quite a number of PC peripherals over the years, but its latest keyboard, the Glorious GMMK Pro, looks to be the company’s most exciting one yet. For only $170 (about RM705), the GMMK Pro offers a slew of features typically found on custom keyboards twice its price.

One of the most enticing features of the GMMK Pro has to be its gasket-mounted plate. According to Glorious, this “naturally dampens keystrokes for a unique haptic and acoustic experience.” One of the defining features of a premium board is a gasket mounting system of sorts, so it’s great to see this implemented on a keyboard at this price point.

It’s also worth noting that the GMMK Pro has a CNC aluminium case, not to mention the fact that it has a hotswap PCB to easily swap between different switches; both three-pin and five-pin switches are supported. Not only does this make it very beginner-friendly board, the PCB has per-key RGB lighting as well with south-facing LEDs for maximum compatibility with keycaps of varying profiles.

Other specifications of the GMMK Pro include support for both screw-in and clip-in stabilisers – it is pre-installed with Glorious’ own screw-in GOAT stabilisers that are pre-lubed – a USB-C connection, as well as QMK and VIA compatibility for easy key customisation. This will be especially handy for folks that want to change what the rotary encoder on the top right of the keyboard does.

The Glorious GMMK Pro will be available for pre-order on 11 November next week for $170, which comes up to about RM705. Keep in mind that switches and keycaps are not included; you’d have to purchase these two separately to complete the keyboard. Still, you’re getting a lot of value for your money with this barebone board.

Shipping for the GMMK Pro, on the other hand, will begin sometime in the first quarter of 2021. Glorious mentioned that this board will be kept in stock, so you won’t have to worry about missing out on it. More details on the GMMK Pro can be found here.
