2020 Honda CR-V Facelift Launched in Malaysia: From RM140k to RM163k
November 5, 2020 Andrew Cheng

Honda just launched the facelifted Honda CR-V in Malaysia. Compared to the pre-facelift model, the updated C-segment SUV gets some minor styling changes and added features, including Honda LaneWatch – standard across the range – and remote engine start for the turbo variants.

Speaking of which, three different variants of the CR-V are offered here. There’s the 2.0L 2WD base model (RM139,912.53), the 1.5L TC-P 2WD mid-tier variant (RM157,615.91), and the range-topping 1.5L TC-P 4WD trim (RM162,910.18). These prices are with tax exemption applied until the end of the year, so come 2021, they will go for RM145,400, RM164,300, and RM169,900 respectively.

The most affordable 2.0L 2WD model is powered by a 2.0L SOHC i-VTEC engine that puts out 154PS and 189Nm of torque. The other two turbo variants, on the other hand, are packed with a more powerful 1.5L DOHC VTEC turbocharged engine with 193PS and 243Nm of torque. Both engine options are paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with drive sent to the front wheels, except for the all-wheel drive 1.5L TC-P 4WD model.

As mentioned, Honda LaneWatch is standard across the range for the new CR-V, but only the turbo variants get the Honda Sensing suite of safety features. These include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Low Speed Follow (LSF), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), and Auto High Beam (AHB).

On top of that, the two turbo variants of the CR-V also come with a powered tailgate that can now be activated with a foot sensor underneath the rear bumper. They feature larger 18-inch alloy wheels too, while the base 2.0L 2WD model gets 17-inch wheels.

To recap, the facelifted Honda CR-V starts at RM139,912.53 for the 2.0L 2WD trim, and the price goes up to RM157,615.91 and RM162,910.18 for the 1.5L TC-P 2WD and 1.5L TC-P 4WD models respectively. These prices are only valid until the end of the year; that’s when the tax exemption period is set to end.
