Initially opened for booking two months ago, Edaran Tan Chong Motor (ETCM) finally released the full pricing of the 2020 Nissan Almera Turbo. Retailing from RM79,906 to RM91,310, the new B-segment sedan is offered in three distinct variants.
Let’s start with the base VL trim of the Almera, which retails at RM79,906. The better equipped VLP and VLT variants, on the other hand, cost RM85,715 and RM91,310 respectively. These prices are with tax exemption applied for 2020, so come next year, the VL will go for RM83,888, VLP at RM89,888, and the range-topping VLT at RM95,888.
All three variants of the new Almera are powered by the same 1.0L turbocharged three-cylinder engine that outputs 100PS and 152Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the front wheels via an X-Tronic CVT with D-Step Logic and Sport Mode for more spirited driving.
Besides that, regardless of which model you go for, the new Almera comes with Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (IFCW) with Intelligent Forward Emergency Braking (IFEB). Basically, it’s an autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system, which will automatically apply the brakes to avoid frontal collisions. That being said, the base VL only comes with two airbags, while the VLP and VLT trims get six airbags.
As the range-topping model, the VLT Almera naturally has some additional features. These include Intelligent Around View Monitor, Blind Spot Warning System, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Cruise Control, and LED headlamps.
To recap, the all-new Nissan Almera retails from RM79,906 for the most affordable VL model; the price goes up to RM85,715 and RM91,310 for the VLP and VLT models respectively. Again, do note that these prices are only valid this year with tax exemption. More information on the B-segment sedan can be found here.
