Huawei MateBook 14 Lands in Malaysia; Ryzen 4000H Laptop From RM3,799

Huawei just launched a new laptop in Malaysia, the Huawei MateBook 14. Unlike most productivity laptops, what makes this relatively thin and light notebook particularly unique is the processor under the hood: it’s powered by AMD’s Ryzen 4000H series processors.

Typically, Ryzen 4000H processors are found in gaming laptops, so it’s quite interesting that Huawei decided to use them for the MateBook 14. Anyway, two variants of the laptop are offered in Malaysia: the Ryzen 5 4600H model costs RM3,799, while the higher-end Ryzen 7 4800H configuration – complete with a touch-enabled screen – retails at RM4,399.

Beyond the choice of processor and touchscreen, other hardware of the two MateBook 14 models are identical. Both feature a 14-inch 2160 x 1440 IPS display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, which offers more vertical space than a conventional 16:9 screen; perfect for productivity tasks.

Rounding out the specifications of the MateBook 14 include 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, integrated Radeon Graphics, a chassis that weighs 1.49kg and 15.9mm thin, a 56WHr battery, a fingerprint sensor underneath the power button, as well as a webcam that’s hidden under a pop-up mechanism in the keyboard.

The Huawei MateBook 14 will be available for pre-order in Malaysia on 26 October. To recap, the Ryzen 5 4600H model costs RM3,799, while the Ryzen 7 4800H variant retails at RM4,399.
