Aside from the all-new Honda City, it appears Honda Malaysia is set to launch yet another new model by the end of the year: the facelifted fifth generation Honda CR-V. For the most part, it’s a minor exterior revision, with most of the changes happening under the hood.

Compared to the pre-facelift model, the new CR-V is now sporting a black grille instead of chrome, much like the facelifted Honda Civic. The rear gets some revisions too, along with redesigned dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels. All in all, pretty subtle changes to the exterior of the C-segment SUV.

What’s more exciting is the addition of Honda LaneWatch on all variants of the facelifted CR-V. This safety feature relies on a camera mounted on the left side mirror; once you signal to the left, the infotainment screen will display what’s on the left side of the SUV to allow for safer lane changes.

Aside from that, the updated CR-V will also come with a powered tailgate, though it remains to be seen exactly which variant will get this feature. As usual, Honda Sensing will continue to be offered, and it will even be extended to the 4WD model. The engine, on the other hand, is still a 1.5L VTEC turbocharged engine that churns out 193PS and 243Nm of torque.

The facelifted Honda CR-V is now available for booking in Malaysia at all authorised Honda dealers nationwide. It’s expected to be launched before the end of 2020, so there’s a chance the new model will be able to enjoy the 100% sales tax exemption.
