Aside from the new XPS 13, Dell also refreshed the convertible XPS 13 2-in-1. Just like the former, there are no drastic changes to the design of the laptop; the biggest change lies under the hood in the form of Intel’s new Tiger Lake chips and better graphics performance. Of course, we’ve also got word on the Malaysian availability of the XPS 13 2-in-1.
Set to arrive here in October next month – much like the regular XPS 13 – the updated XPS 13 2-in-1 will retail from RM5,999. No word yet on which variant the Malaysian market is getting, but Dell confirmed that one of them will be packing a Core i5-1135G7 processor paired with 8GB of RAM, Intel Iris Xe graphics, and a 256GB SSD.
Another neat upgrade the new XPS 13 2-in-1 received is a new IR camera for Windows Hello authentication. Previously, the convertible laptop only had a regular webcam. Despite the new camera sensor, Dell still manages to retain the minimal bezels surrounding the screen.
Speaking of which, the XPS 13 2-in-1 continues using the 13.4-inch InfinityEdge touch-enabled screen as its predecessor, complete with the 16:10 aspect ratio. This hasn’t been confirmed by Dell Malaysia yet, but we reckon both the Full HD+ and UHD+ screen options will be offered locally.
The Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 will be available in Malaysia sometime in October next month. Starting at RM5,999, it’s definitely positioned as a premium convertible laptop – just like other XPS products from Dell.
