Dell XPS 13 With Intel Tiger Lake Chips Arriving in Malaysia Next Month; Starts at RM6,399
September 29, 2020 Andrew Cheng

Dell just announced the refreshed Dell XPS 13. Now sporting Intel’s latest Tiger Lake chips, this update is largely a spec bump with no changes to the design of the premium laptop. Surprisingly enough, Dell Malaysia also revealed the local availability of the new XPS 13.

Set to arrive here in Malaysia in October next month, the updated XPS 13 will retail from RM6,399 on our shores. We still don’t know which configuration of the laptop we’re getting, but at least one variant will feature a Core i5-1135G7 processor, Intel’s new Iris Xe integrated graphics, 8GB of RAM, as well as a 512GB SSD.

Beyond the processor – and integrated GPU – upgrade, the new XPS 13 also comes with faster RAM now; more specifically, 4267MHz LPDDR4x RAM instead of 3733MHz. Of course, thanks to the Tiger Lake chip, the refreshed XPS 13 supports Thunderbolt 4 too.

Naturally, the XPS 13’s signature 13.4-inch InfinityEdge screen with tiny bezels and a taller than usual 16:10 aspect ratio are still retained. This aspect ratio is ideal for productivity tasks, thanks to more vertical screen real estate. Two screen resolutions (touch or non-touched) should be offered for the Malaysian market as well: a 1920 x 1200 panel or a sharper 3840 x 2400 display.

The new Dell XPS 13 with Intel’s new Tiger Lake chips will be arriving in Malaysia next month in October. To recap, the premium productivity laptop will retail from RM6,399 here.
