Yet another mid-range smartphone has been launched today, the Vivo V20 SE. Sporting a modest set of hardware, the phone retails at RM1,199 here in Malaysia. Given what’s under the hood of the V20 SE, this is actually quite a steep price tag.
For that kind of money, the V20 SE features 128GB of storage with 8GB of RAM; this is the sole variant available locally. While that’s a decent amount of storage and RAM, this mid-ranger is only powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset; not a lot of value for the money there.
The Snapdragon 665 isn’t a bad processor per se, but at this price point, you can easily get a different phone with a newer, faster chip – the Poco X3 NFC is a prime example.
Anyway, the V20 SE does have a number of interesting features. One of them is the 6.44-inch 2400 x 1080 AMOLED screen, which should offer vibrant colours, deep blacks, and good viewing angles. Aside from that, it also has a reasonably big 4,100mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging; it allows the phone to be charged up to 62% in 30 minutes.
Other specifications of the V20 SE include a triple camera system (48MP f/1.8 primary + 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle + 2MP f/2.4 depth), a 32MP f/2.0 front-facing camera, an in-screen fingerprint sensor, as well as two colour options: Gravity Black and Oxygen Blue.
The Vivo V20 SE is now available in Malaysia for RM1,199. Those who purchase the phone from today until 2 October will receive a complimentary mini speaker and car phone holder worth RM199.
