Realme has confirmed to release two new mid-range smartphones in Malaysia next week: the Realme 7 and the Realme 7 Pro. These two devices have a number of interesting features, including reasonably fast processors and equally fast charging rates.

Naturally, the Realme 7 Pro is the more exciting phone of the two. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G chipset clocked at 2.3GHz, which should be able to deliver a good level of performance. Paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, you wouldn’t have any issue multitasking with this device either.

Besides that, the Realme 7 Pro comes with a 6.4-inch 2400 x 1080 Super AMOLED screen with a hole-punch cutout on the top left of the display for the 32MP f/2.5 front-facing camera. While the AMOLED panel is an improvement over its predecessor’s LCD screen, it only has a 60Hz refresh rate. In contrast, the Realme 6 Pro actually had a faster 90Hz screen.

Battery life of the Realme 7 Pro should be above average as well, thanks to its generous 4,500mAh battery. According to Realme, the phone’s fast 65W charging rate also allows the battery to be fully charged from empty in only 34 minutes. That’s quite impressive.

In the camera department, the Realme 7 Pro features a quad camera array made up of a 64MP f/1.8 primary shooter, an 8MP f/2.3 ultra-wide angle lens, a 2MP f/2.4 macro shooter, a 2MP depth sensor.

And then there’s the more affordable Realme 7. This phone, as expected, comes with a slightly scaled-down set of hardware. For one, instead of an AMOLED screen, it sports a 6.5-inch 2400 x 1800 IPS LCD display. However, it’s worth noting that it’s actually a 90Hz panel; an odd contrast over the 60Hz screen of the Pro model.

Beyond the display, the Realme 7 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G95 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It also has a similar camera system as the Pro model – even though the module looks different – as well as a 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.

The Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro will be landing in Malaysia next week on 24 September. Local pricing of the two phones have not been revealed yet, but expect them to be quite affordable – Realme devices are typically priced competitively.
