Kia Seltos Now Open for Booking in Malaysia; 1.6L Engine Only
September 11, 2020 Andrew Cheng

After months of wait, the Kia Seltos is finally available for booking in Malaysia at certain Kia showrooms. As we’ve reported back in April, two variants of the B-segment SUV will be offered here; both will be powered by the same 1.6L Gamma naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine.

That’s right, it’s confirmed now that the Seltos for the Malaysian market will only come with one engine option – we are not getting the turbocharged mill. Anyway, the 1.6L Gamma MPI engine outputs 123PS and 151Nm of torque, with drive sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.

As mentioned, two variants of the Seltos are available here. There’s the base EX trim, and the more well-equipped GT-Line model. What differentiates these two models are a number of creature comforts and design elements. Exclusive to the GT-Line variant are ventilated front seats, full LED headlights, a head-up display, a wireless charging pad, and automatic air-conditioning.

Standard equipment offered on both the EX and GT-Line trims are quite neat as well. These include leather seats – though the design is different between the two models – Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, passive cruise control, as well as 17-inch wheels.

While the Kia Seltos is now open for booking in Malaysia, local pricing of the B-segment SUV has not been revealed yet. But given that it is now available for viewing at selected showrooms, we can expect to hear more about the Seltos in the coming weeks.
