Poco X3 NFC Official: Snapdragon 732G, 120Hz Screen, RM799 Price Tag
September 7, 2020 Andrew Cheng

After much teasing, the Poco X3 NFC is finally official, and it’s one impressive mid-range smartphone with a very, very competitive price tag. Not only is it the first device to be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 732G chipset, it also features a fast 120Hz screen and large 5,160mAh battery for only RM799.

That’s right, only RM799 for this Snapdragon 732G smartphone. Needless to say, the Poco X3 offers incredibly good value for money at this price point. Granted, this is an early bird offer for the 64GB model with 6GB of RAM; it will go for only RM799 instead of RM899 from 9 to 10 September on Shopee.

If you need more storage and RAM, you can opt for the 128GB variant with the same 6GB RAM; you can get this for merely RM949 instead of RM1,099 during the early bird period.

So what is the Snapdragon 732G under the hood of the Poco X3? Well, as its name suggests, it is a slight upgrade over the Snapdragon 730G chipset. The Kryo 470 prime core of the chip is now clocked at up to 2.3GHz instead of 2.2GHz, which should net a modest gain in processing power. In the graphics department, the difference is a lot more tangible: the Snapdragon 732G’s Adreno 618 GPU offers up to 15% better performance.

Aside from that, the Poco X3 also comes with a 6.67-inch 2400 x 1080 LCD screen with a high 120Hz refresh rate; it’s quite surreal how a phone at this price point has such a fast display. On top of that, the panel also has a 240Hz touch sampling rate to reduce input lag to a minimum. Perfect for mobile gamers who want all the advantage they can get.

Another noteworthy hardware of the Poco X3 has to be its very generous 5,160mAh battery. According to Poco, this allows the X3 to last over two days “under moderate usage,” which does sound very plausible. On top of that, the phone also supports 33W fast charging, allowing the 5,160mAh battery to be charged to 62% from empty in only 30 minutes.

Other specifications of the Poco X3 include a quad camera system (64MP f/1.89 primary + 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle + 2MP f/2.4 macro + 2MP f/2.4 depth), a 20MP f/2.2 selfie camera, a microSD card slot – it supports cards up to 256GB – a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out of the box.

To recap, the Poco X3 NFC will be available for purchase from 9 September onwards on Shopee. Early birds can get the 64GB model for only RM799 instead of RM899, while the 128GB option will be discounted to RM949 from RM1,099.
