Now this is a bit of a surprise: Sony Malaysia is currently running a survey for the PlayStation 5. Looking at the survey itself, it seems the Japanese company is gauging consumer interest for its next-generation console – along with a range of accessories for the system – in the Malaysian market.
The PlayStation 5 survey was shared by Sony Malaysia on its Facebook page. As expected, there aren’t any noteworthy details in the post; the company is merely asking consumers to “be ready for PlayStation 5.” Whether or not this means the console will be coming to Malaysia soon still remains to be seen, of course.
As for the survey itself, it contains pretty standard questions. It asks whether you would be more keen to get the standard PlayStation 5 or the digital-only version, upcoming PS5 games you’d be interested to play, as well as interest check on accessories made for the next-generation console. No indication on the local pricing or availability of the PS5, unfortunately.
However, it’s worth noting that the DualSense controller for the PlayStation 5 has already been registered with our local certification body, SIRIM, as early as last month. While this doesn’t necessarily mean Malaysia will be one of the first markets to get the upcoming console, it’s surely a promising sign.
If you’re interested to complete the PlayStation 5 survey, you can do so here. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the availability and pricing of the next-generation console closer to its release by the end of the year.
