The Asus ROG Phone 3 gaming smartphone was unveiled to the world last month, and it’s set to arrive here in Malaysia very, very soon. Initially set to be launched locally in the middle of September next month, it appears the Taiwanese company moved the date forward to 5 September.
This launch date was revealed by well-known retailer DirectD on its Facebook page. First spotted by Lowyat.NET – which has confirmed the launch date with Asus itself – three different variants of the ROG Phone 3 will be offered here.
It’s worth noting that out of the three variants, the base model is the ROG Phone 3 Strix Edition. This particular version of the gaming smartphone features a standard Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip, while the other two higher-end models is powered by the newer Snapdragon 865+ SoC. Regardless of which model you go for, you can still expect flagship-tier performance.
Other specifications of the ROG Phone 3 include a 6.59-inch 2340 x 1080 AMOLED display with a fast 144Hz refresh rate, a large 6,000mAh battery, a triple rear camera system (64MP f/1.8 primary + 13MP f/2.4 ultra-wide angle + 5MP f/2.0 macro), a 24MP f/2.0 front-facing camera, as well as an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The Asus ROG Phone 3 will be landing in Malaysia next week on 5 September. Naturally, the local retail price of the gaming smartphone has not been revealed yet, though Asus Malaysia did tell us it will be priced closely to the ROG Phone II; the latter retailed from RM2,499 to RM4,499 at launch.
