HP just launched two new laptops in Malaysia: the extremely lightweight HP Elite Dragonfly business-class laptop, and the more consumer-oriented HP Spectre X360 13. These are both premium-tier laptops, so expect to pay quite a bit of money for either one of them.

Let’s start with the Elite Dragonfly, a very, very lightweight commercial convertible laptop. Although HP did not mention the exact weight of the Dragonfly, it’s said to be “under 1kg.” Besides that, it’s a relatively slim machine too, measuring 16.1mm thin.

There are also a number of screen options for the Elite Dragonfly. The 13.3-inch IPS display with an 86% screen-to-body ratio can either be configured with a 1080p touch panel, or a more pixel-dense 4K screen; also touch-enabled. On top of that, the display is also protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Given its status as a business laptop, battery life is particularly important for the Elite Dragonfly. Well, according to HP, this laptop has an impressive battery life; it can supposedly last up to 24.5 hours on a single charge. That’s a lofty estimate, to be sure, and it’ll be interesting to see if it can really deliver this level of battery life in real life testing.

Rounding out the specifications of the Elite Dragonfly include 8th generation Intel Core processors – which maxes out at a Core i7-8665U chip – paired with 16GB of RAM, SSD storage options between 128GB to 512GB, Intel UHD Graphics 620 integrated GPU, and a 720p webcam with a physical privacy shutter.

As for the Spectre x360 13, it’s also a convertible laptop like the Dragonfly. Interestingly, it has a higher screen-to-body ratio than the more costly Dragonfly at 90%, and it can be configured with an impressive 13.3-inch 4K AMOLED touch screen. Of course, you can also opt for a 1080p IPS panel if you want a more affordable option.

Unlike the Dragonfly, the Spectre x360 13 ships with Intel’s latest 10th generation processor. It can be purchased with a Core i7-1065G7 or i5-1035G4 chip, which also comes with Intel Iris Plus Graphics. That’s right, there’s no dedicated GPU here.

Other hardware under the hood of the Spectre x360 13 are 16GB of RAM, up to 2TB of fast PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage, and a webcam “kill switch,” which cuts off power to the webcam.

Both the HP Elite Dragonfly and Spectre x360 13 are now available in Malaysia. The Dragonfly retails from RM6,500, while the x360 13 starts at RM5,499.
