Asus ZenBook Pro Duo & ZenBook Duo Arrive in Malaysia 14 November
November 6, 2019 Andrew Cheng

Always wanted a laptop with two screens? Well, you can purchase such a laptop as early as next week: Asus will be introducing the Asus ZenBook Pro Duo and ZenBook Duo in Malaysia on 14 November. The former is especially interesting: it features a stunning 4K OLED display.

Not many laptops use an OLED display, so the ZenBook Pro Duo is definitely a unique laptop in this regard. The primary display is a 15.6-inch 4K OLED touch-enabled screen, while the ScreenPad Plus secondary screen – it sits right above the keyboard – is a 14-inch 3840 x 1100 touch panel.

Performance of the ZenBook Pro Duo is worth highlighting too. Although we still don’t know which variant will be brought into Malaysia, the laptop is available in two processor options in other markets. It can be configured with either a beefy Intel Core i9-9980HK processor, or a more modest Core i7-9750H chip.

In the graphics department, the Pro Duo features an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. While you can’t exactly game in 4K with the RTX 2060 – it will struggle to provide playable frame rate at that resolution – it should be powerful enough for tasks required by creative professionals.

Other specifications of the ZenBook Pro Duo include up to 32GB of RAM, as well as 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of fast PCIe SSD.

As for the ZenBook Duo, it’s a more affordable and smaller alternative to the ZenBook Pro Duo. It comes with a 14-inch 1920 x 1080 display, a 12.6-inch Full HD ScreenPad Plus secondary screen, a 10th generation Core i7-10510U or i5-10210U processor paired with up to 16GB of RAM, and three PCIe SSD storage options (256GB, 512GB, 1TB).

Unfortunately, the GPU of the ZenBook Duo is heavily downgraded from its higher-end sibling: under the hood of this laptop is only a GeForce MX250 GPU. Now, even though it’s not quite as impressive as the ZenBook Pro Duo, the ZenBook Duo is a much more portable laptop. After all, it weighs only 1.5kg with a 19.9mm thin chassis.

The Asus ZenBook Pro Duo and ZenBook Duo will be launched in Malaysia next week on 14 November. Given the high-end hardware of the Pro Duo, expect to pay a premium for it. Of course, you can always go for the more affordable (and far more compact) ZenBook Duo instead – you’re still getting two screens on a laptop.
