Apple Developer Academy Now Includes AI Training
June 19, 2024 Andrew Cheng

Apple just announced that it will be training Apple Developer Academy students and mentors on artificial intelligence (AI). The new core curriculum will be offered at all 18 Developer Academies in six countries, including Indonesia, South Korea, Brazil, Italy, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.

It’s worth noting that even Apple Developer Academy alumni can take part in the new AI training. The custom-built curriculum will touch on building, training, and deploying machine learning models on Apple devices. The fundamentals of AI technologies and frameworks will also be taught in the curriculum.

“At Apple, we see coding as a universal language and believe in empowering developers, creators, and entrepreneurs across the world with tools and technologies that will allow them to create phenomenal experiences,” said Apple’s Vice President of Worldwide Developer Relations, Susan Prescott. “With the introduction of curriculum dedicated to AI and other new technologies, we’re excited to see what students will build to share with their communities and the world,” she added.

More details on AI training at Apple Developer Academy can be found on Apple Newsroom. The training will be offered from fall 2024 onwards, and it will be taught in the form of guided curriculum and project-based assignments that include assistance from hundreds of mentors and more than 12,000 academy alumni worldwide, as Apple puts it.
